Mission Viejo (pronounced /'m???n vi?'e?ho?/) is a city located in southern Orange County, California in the Saddleback Valley. It was named the safest city in the United States in a 2007 Morgan Quitno crime statistic survey (compiled from FBI data). The Mission Viejo Nadadores Swimming and Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving Team won a string of national championships and produced a number of Olympians and world record holders in the 1970s and 1980s. Olympians included Shirley Babashoff, Brian Goodell, Larson Jenson, Maryanne Graham, Nicole Kramer, Casy Converse, Marcia Morey, Dara Torres, and Greg Louganis.
